NASA to test giant Mars parachute on Earth

The NASA now builds a giant parachute that can land the spaceship on the Mars.  It is going to be tested on Earth. Many years from now, humans have sent many robotic instruments into mars and it was successful. But in order to send astronauts there, they will need a parachute to protect the astronauts from landing. Otherwise by the time the astronauts get there they will be turning into juice and pies already if you get want I’m saying. The idea is that when the weather is nice, the Agency will shoot the parachute 4 times the speed of sound into the atmosphere, and the viewers with internet can watch this wonderful moment. The Engineers do not expect success for the first time trying. However, if they got the data, they said they will be really happy, maybe just for their salary.

 

Step by step, people are closer and closer to the space traveling and space immigrating. This is very exciting as we which human move forward. 100 before we just invented the airplanes, but now, we are able to plan for where are we going to go. I hope the engineers really planned for what are those astronauts going to do when they get there. It’s going to be a boring time. Also, how can they go back? Or they just wouldn’t come back? Even though, if I ever got an opportunity, I would love to anticipate in something like this. This is so cool. I really looking forward to what is going to happen, will humans actually sleep on mars?

Bodies of 6 Mount Rainier climbers may not be recovered

There are 6 people who went to climb Mount Rainer and likely fall down from 1000 meters high and likely they were died and buried. But sadly, there is no way to find their bodies, because at that altitude and conditions, it’s not worth to put another’s person’s life in danger to hopefully find anyone alive down there. They received some signal from the equipment of the climbers. But it’s unclear what were they doing during the accident. An avalanche or a rock fall may cause them to fall. The signal is coming from under snow, which means that they are buried under the ground. This makes the recovery of the bodies even more difficult. This mountain is a very dangerous mountain; many climbers have lost their lives during way to the top.

 

This is very sad, my dad has a friend who actually was a very famous mountain climber, and fell to his death during a mountain climbing event. It was supposed to be an easy and relaxing one, however, he took it too lightly, and he fell to his death. Now, there is 6 people repeated what my dad’s friend did again. They tried to climb to this dangerous mountain with the most challenging route, and got themselves killed.  My dad loves mountain climbing as well, and he said it’s worth it to climb and challenge himself even with the risk of life. Actually I don’t care about what challenging and what the meaning of life that he’s talking about, all I care about is that whatever he do is good for the family.

B.C. randonneur cyclist shot during Cache Creek 600

On the last Sunday morning, a 59 years old Burnaby man was shot during a bicycle event. The location of this assassination took place south of Spence Bridge on highway 1. It happened about 1 am. The Police officers think that the assassin fled by a pickup truck after fire at this person. Burnaby man is now in a hospital and in a stable condition. The cyclist takes part in a 600 kilometer event, which is supposed to be finished in 2 days. The location is around the Spence Bridge.

I think this is a very good time to test the efficiency of the police officer. It will not be an easy job to find out who is the murder. The murderer happened in 1 a.m., which means that there will not be many witness out there. The information that polices get is very limited. They are only guessing that there is a pickup truck for the murderer. But since the victim is now in a good condition and stabilized, hopefully the police officer will able to get some information or clues from the victim. But why is he cycling in 1 a.m.? If I am him I will rather find an inn and get rest for tomorrow. Also, the event should have more police around the trail, in case of the murderer like this ever happen again.

Heartbleed web security bug: What you need to know

There is a huge bug that people just discovered. It’s called heart bleed bug. It’s not a bug we see every day on the ground, it’s an internet security bug.  This bug can cause people to see your email, personal information, username, password etc. This bug is called heart bleed because when it is exploited from the client to the server and vice versa. It’s pretty look like a bleeding heart. Many internet services are affected, like the Canada Revenue Agency site, yahoo etc. The users don’t know if their personal information is already been stolen or not. This bug can be fixed, but just not by us. In order to protect ourselves, we should change our passwords. Though this is not very useful, the bug is going to leak the information soon or later, but it can limit the people who already know your password.

 

This is a terrible bug. This bug will make people know the password of my LOL account, and then the things will become terrible. Even more seriously, my families’ information might be stolen, and our family might be in danger. No one want any personal information been leak out. Without any doubt, we want the people who are currently working on this fix this bug as soon as possible. Before everyone see everyone else’s personal information and password etc. For the people who don’t know computer very much, like us, it will just be a disaster for us.

Bullous pemphigoid: how it affects the body

Jim Flaherty was Canada’s finance minister. He died of a heart attack at the age of 64, which is this year. He was also suffering from a skin disease called bullous pemphigoid.  He revealed in 2013 January that he has this disease. This disease affected him for many years. It might have a connection with his massive heart attack. This disease is formed when the antibodies attack on the skin even though there is no infection. The skin will usually turn red first and itchy. It then may cause muscle weakness, bone damage and irregular heartbeat etc. This disease is very painful. The patient usually will suffer from a burning feeling. However, this disease is very rare.

 

I think it’s unfortunate for this great man’s death. I also thinks that his death have something to do with this disease. But it’s not the main cause for sure. I think we should always protect our body from every detail, and learn lessons from the mistake that the other people have already made. The heart disease is known as the first killer in the whole North America. I believe in the whole world it’s a very deadly killer as well. My grandfather and maternal grandfather were all died from this disease. I hope people will stop suffering from this disease, and the medical system could develop quickly.

Malaysia Airlines MH370: New possible 'pings' detected in jet search

The Australia research team recently found a “ping”. They might found the black box for the MH370. The MH370 have 239 people to Beijing on board. The Australia air units and sea units are all trying their best to find the black box or the plane’s flight recorder around the sea where the MH370 disappear. The airplanes drop the sonar around the sea. The area that’s been searching for is around the size of Los Angeles. The sea units send out the Bluefin subs to research on the area around the sea. The time they have is very limited, since the batteries can only last 1 month or so. The searching operation might fail soon.

 

In my opinion, I think this is so unfortunate. There are many Chinese on the plane as well, and they were just ordering drinks and lying on the seat just like we do when we were on the plane. But their air plane was crashed, we are not. I think this tragedy must have something to do with Malaysia. Malaysia must have some truth that was not published yet. But the most important thing is people should never give up hope to find the black box. Everyone wants to know what specifically happened in that plane. I hope we can defeat the time and actually find the black box and figure out what really happened.

Canadian hospitals stretched as self-harming teens seek help

A mental health service found out that the number of teenagers in the hospital who have suicidal thoughts and self-inflict injures has grown significantly. Dr. Hazen says, “We're seeing twice as many kids as we were 10 years ago”. Dr. Hazen mentioned that the kids who hurt themselves usually from cutting themselves with knife or anything that’s sharp and burn themselves for no good reason. Self- inflict injure could be caused by depression and anxiety. In 2009-13, the number of the kids who hurt themselves and shows up in the emergency rises significantly. Many factors can make Kids and teenagers to hurt themselves, like experience a break up, a death or a poor grade. The Doctors says about this situation “almost a fad to cut now”.

 

In my opinion, the teenagers are always feeling more stressed due to the fact that they are in adolescence. When people are in adolescence, they can’t really control themselves and they will always need to find something to vent their emotions and feelings. When they feel rock music and gaming isn’t strong enough, they will look for something like drugs and self- injuring. I think the solution of this is to teach the teenagers and the kids to control their feelings and mood. Sometimes they also hurt the people they love and the people who have nothing to do with the deal they involved in.

Social media affecting teens' concepts of friendship, intimacy

Social media and Network society affects teenager’s relationship and friendship. The researcher found out that in average, a typical teenager has 300 Facebook friends and 79 twitter followers. Many teenagers have way more friends and followers than that number. In the research in 2013, the researchers found out the majority of teenagers post their photos of daily life to let their online friends to see. The more recent research also showed that the teenagers also protect their online privacy, like refuse to give their phone number; however, they do not understand well the Online Privacy agreement and often share about their geo-location or passwords. Their friendship sort changes from the network society. They now create their own online words like “u”, “u2” etc. Also it’s not necessary to meet their friends face to face anymore.

 

I’m not a kind of teenager that has 300 friends on my Facebook, but I still agree with this article. I have many friends who will just enjoy their time on stuff like Facebook or Chinese Facebook as known as Renren or wechat. It makes them stay in their house forever and they actually don’t have a lot to say when you meet them. However, when they log on line, they will be completely changed. They publish tons of their status online, and when you log on, your screen will fill with their status. I think the teenagers should do enjoy their life but not online, to meet with their “real” friends that’s what matters.

U.K. spy agency captured private webcam chats, report says

The UK spy agency was capture people’s private webcam chats. They scoop sensitive images by intercept throw the webcam such as Yahoo, Facebook etc. They don’t know how many spies are doing this on people’s webcam right now, but they know the spy department had capture and intercepted 1.8 million users in 2008, and this program is  probably still working today. If this program keeps improve and develop, more and more millions of user would be spied. There are already 75 millions of users in yahoo in 2011. They could be like virus and just spy everyone. This program could find the user’s cell phone; address and Email etc. and all of those people are innocent. This program takes photos from the webcam every 5 min, and if it’s sensitive, it will be send to the spy department. The funny thing is that about 8% of images are very “undesirable nudity”.

 

In my opinion, I think this program should definitely disappear from this planet. Because might harm the users’ privacy. Imagine that if I’m webcaming someone, I’ll never want someone else that I don’t know to intercept about my chat and steal my personal useful data from it. If this spy knows me somehow, he could use my credit card without even letting me notice. Also, my Email address will expose too many things, and I have to deal with tons of garbage messages in my Email. My home address might be exposing, and someone with all my personal information can just kidnap me. Save your privacy, deny the spies.

Why is security camera video still so terrible?

In 2014, many technologies improved. The smart phones now can use as computers, the computer run much faster, and the internet is much better. However, the Security camera is always as bad as the webcam circa 1998 and it never changes. Those police always wants the better camera, because the better camera can always lead to a better investigations. It would really help the police to catch the thieves. There was a case when a thief saw himself on TV, and he said: “look, that’s me, I’m screwed”. However, the reality always makes the police’s hope disappear. In reality, the only thing that could help the police to find the thief is to tell them where they might find the finger print etc. Because when a thief is going to rob a store, he’s going to ROB A STORE!

 

In my opinion, I always hoped that cameras can be much better, so each time when we have a thief who’s trying to steal our stuff, we are able to find them as fast as possible. That will make our life much better. I’m not a thief, so I don’t know what the thief will think if the cameras are actually better. Also, improve the quantity of the camera image will reduce the chance of people getting steal. Because the thief will know that the camera here will catch their face, so he might go to somewhere else to steal or just give up that thought. People, please make the security cameras better.

Saudi men are dying from a new virus. This virus is very similar to SARS. Since the outbreak of SARS, it already killed 775 people worldwide. It was stopped but now, a kind of new virus just claimed the 60^th victim in Saudi Arabia. It’s the 60^th death from this new disease. In total, there are 145 people infected and stay in hospital. This SARS like virus killed 800 in the outbreak of 2003. Although it is related to SARS, it belongs to a common cold family. It could cause coughing, fever and pneumonia. Also, it could disable our kidney. The first time people ever found out this virus is in 2012, and it was spreading in the Europe.

 

This virus might be very dangerous. It remained me of an experience when I was young. At that time the SARS are spreading in the world. In China, the government strengthened their control in urban area; the police man was like searching for a political criminal. They want to search everything so that they know if you get infected with SARS or not. It was a terrible experience; we can’t get into our house simply because I’m too young to have an ID. We waited 1 hour outside then our parents started to search for us. This virus could be very similar to SARS, and the technology is developing.  Now days, it’s so much easier to find a cure about a new disease or virus. So, I’m not afraid of this disease, even if I’m infected, I still have a high possibility to survive.

North Korea now is very similar to the Nazi Germany in the Second World War. They organize systematic torture and killing. The UN said that the leader Kim Jong-un should face the international justice due to his action to the innocent people. UN is trying to persuade him to rein their nuclear weapons. The UN also told that the ally of North Korea is China, which they send detectors to North Korea end up they were killed. Many of the detectors are teenager. The crimes that North Korea committed include rape, execution, torture, abductions and starvation. However, when they ask the civilian of North Korea, they said those crimes “doesn’t exist in our country”.

In my opinion, North Korea was always a bad place and a bad country. From what I heard, same as China, their government is also a communism party. They are like the China back in the days when Chairman Mao is still alive. Chairman Mao use his authority randomly, killed all his teammates who fight him through WWII and civil war simply because they disagree with him sometimes. For North Korea, I’ve heard that Jong-un has killed his ex-girlfriend with a random crime simply because he wants another girl. I think Nazi Germany is even better than North Korea, because at least they don’t kill their own people. I totally agree with this article. I hope that North Korea will become better one day, and communism will disappear from this planet.

Google Glass is a kind of glass that combined all the function of smart phone and computer. This Glass has a screen on the lens, and it will show many things. It is very cool, and it can actually change the way that the surgeons operate in the operating room. The Advantage of google glass is: google glass is able to capture video of what the wearer sees. If the surgeon is operating, the video can goes around the world, so if the patient is having some critical, rare or the surgeon is just sucks, the doctor that experienced this condition before can help the doctor and might save the patient’s life. Also, the lens itself is not very expensive, it’s around $500. Google Glass theoretically works, but no one will know how it will actually work in the operating room.

In my opinion, I really like this glass and I’ve always waited for this glass actually come out. This glass looks so cool, just like those devices from the movies. In my opinion, this thing might really change the face of surgery. Imagine that if you are lying on the operating table and there is something really go wrong with you, and your doctor have no idea how to save you. But here is google glass, it sent the video to some one that’s really good, and that doctor coached your surgeon, and you were saved. That will be awesome.  I hope it can actually come out with a 500$ prize and I hope it can actually save people.

How the heart of a teen from Guelph saved an Ancaster man

A 15 years old boy was injured very badly in a car accident. Countless bones were broken and most importantly, he was an in condition of brain dead. This boy’s name is Tyler. Tyler wasn’t looking around when he was going home cross the road. A tractor trailer struck him while he’s walking. The boy had his headphone’s on, and wasn’t paying any attention to the surrounding world. The surgeons were trying hard to save this patient from death, but their work ends up in vain. After 48 hours, the family of the boy was told that the boy was gone. The brain activity of the boy was absolute 0. The boy became a no brainer.  Then there was a man called Allingham, who was suffering from a genetic heart disease, hope to have a healthy life style. But he was in a critical condition. So the surgeons gave the heart of Tyler to Allingham. Afterward the families met each other and spend Christmas together. The said it’s amazing to meet each other after all of this.

 

I think it could be a very nice thing to do to give part of my body to a person who’s dying from other things. The countries which have this kind of policy always have a better living condition, like Singapore. In some countries, they don’t have this kind of policy, which makes the life extremely difficult. In China, it’s illegal to remove part of people’s body even though after they were dead, unless the family agreed. I think this policy is ridiculous and cruel. I hope the world can be helping each other like a whole system, not being thousands of individuals.

Peanut allergy in children reduced in experiment

The doctor made an experiment which the children able to reduce their symptom of allergy when they grew up. After half a year since the experiment start, in 96 samples of children and teens, 80% is able to eat 2 ~ 3 peanuts and 2/3 is able to eat 10 peanuts without and symptom. The doctor says that this will decrease the anxiousness about the family members of those patients who is suffering from the allergy. They hope that those peanuts will help the patients get used to it. After this when the patient encounters with peanut product, they will be much better than the situation if they haven’t involved with this experiment. However, the this treatment idea have a problem. The process might scare the patients’ family and influence their normal life.

 

In my opinion, I think this experiment is capable. This experiment is something that can make someone might die from peanut allergy in the future become alive. I think humans are able to adjust to something that’s harmful to them if they have contact with it in a limited amount for a long time. My brother is extremely sensitive to nuts product and nuts for some reason. Every time he touches that stuff, he will swallow up like a balloon. He looks very funny but it’s actually extremely dangerous and painful. Being a family member of a person like this, I really hope that doctors can also create something like that to cure my brother.

The Author is a doctor. He was asked to assist people to suicide many times. However, he hated to do it. He hates to kill his patients. Only 16 percent of the Canadian doctors would like to involve in assisting suicide. According to a survey in New England, only 36 percent of doctors in 74 different countries were in favor of assist suicide. The doctors in those places don't really care about the public opinion. They will never harm their patient in anyway. They think that their job is to save the patient not to kill them, no matter what their conditions are. However, another survey shows that 69 percent of the Canadian population suggested that they support the assist suicide. That’s a very high result. Suicide is not illegal in Canada, but assist suicide is. Some people thinks that to kill patients instead of help go through their darkest hour in their life will destroy our humanity. And also, some other department can do this kind of job. Doctor should never take away patient’s life.

 

In my opinion, I think the doctor should always save the patient, no matter what the condition is. No matter how the patient is suffering, alive is always better than death. For the doctor who’s operating the assist suicide, they will have a feeling of killing a life instead of helping a life, which is true. We only have 1 life, when we die, all of our acknowledgement will leave us and never comeback. I know a person who was suffering from fatal stroke; she was hanging on the edge of the lifeline. My dad was a brain surgeon. He told the family of the patient to give up. The situation was like the patient has no hope at all, she’ll die soon or later. However, one of her family refused to let the doctor operate assist suicide. That’s her daughter. One month later, she woke up. The miracle is happening around us, we should never give up our hope. Also, assist suicide is basically murdering. That’s why I’m so against it. Every life is worth value, and we should never give up our hope.

NSA uses smartphone apps to track people, Snowden docs suggest

Edward Snowden has suggested that the Apps like angry birds can actually stole our personal information from us. Many apps are able to track our location, website, polite details etc. We don’t the how many apps and how many people have downloaded, but the spies from British and USA showed that they are not interest in the object like us. One of the most famous apps that are involved with this special Trojan is angry bird. Angry bird is a very popular worldwide game. It addicted many players and caused 1.7 billion of people downloaded it. However Times and ProPublica said that there is a way to extract information of a player of angry bird from the Android system. Not only the Apps like Angry Bird, but many social app like Facebook can also extract all the information of the phone.

In my opinion, this is a good thing for America and British. However, the problem is how to keep the personal information stay in the Government from the terrorists or other people.  If I have a Trojan in my phone, I’ll feel extremely unsafe because someone will always know what I’m doing and where am I. People never want to have this kind of program in their phone or anywhere near them. I personally disagree with this action. The personal information might leak out and no one is going to take the responsibility for that. Also, it’s useless to have Trajan on the programs like agree birds, because only the people like us play it, the “target” of the spy will barely play them. It only scares people.
